Senior/Team Lead Data Communications Security Technician

We are seeking a senior/team lead data communications security technician for a full-time position. This position will lead team members on projects and service calls. This position also requires the employee to show effective management skills to organize and lead projects teams. This is a hands on role, working indoors and outdoors throughout the year and on lifts, ladders and on construction sites. The individual must have a keen interest and strong capability to learn new technologies (VMS, computer systems, drones, robots, etc). Communications is key for this position as the individual will be required to communicate with various stakeholders from Owners, Project Managers, Technicians, Vendors and Government Officials.
5 years of relevant low voltage and security technology experience plus experience leading small teams of 2-5 technicians.
Desired Skill Set:
Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and plans, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook), programming and operational proficiency with various video surveillance, access control and security systems, effective organizational skills, professional conflict resolution skills, working knowledge of cable infrastructure, and other skills that would assist in effectively fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
Experience with one of more in the following areas:
First Aid, CSTS and other safety certifications are an asset.
Strong command of the English language along with good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
Awareness of productivity and profitability of the work carried out.
Willingness and capability to learn and develop as well as mentoring and nurturing the technical abilities of team members.
Valid Class 5 (or higher) Operator’s License.
Able to pass varying levels of security clearance.
Ability to travel outside of Edmonton.
Personal hand tools required.
Areas of Responsibility:
This position will be responsible for leading installation and integration teams of technicians to complete projects on time and on budget. This position will work closely with the associated project manager to ensure the project management plan is followed and properly executed. As a team lead, this position will maintain transparency with the project manager with respect to project status, needs, expectations, and details. This position will mentor other team members. This position will coordinate with the customer to ensure the relationship stays strong and the scope of work is properly completed. This position also must ensure safety requirements are followed and any incidents are reported.
10-25% travel is required depending on project and service location. Allshield Technologies engages clients throughout Alberta and Western Canada..

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push and pull 75 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
